What is sex therapy?

Sex therapy is a very open and candid discussion about the individual or couples sex life with the goal being to enhance the communication between partners that will lead to a more fulfilled relational intimacy. Sex therapy is an educational process in which a comprehensive history of the client(s) noting any psychological or medical concerns that should be addressed in the therapeutic process. Couples or sex therapy sessions can last anywhere from a few weeks or a few months. Each couple is different and so will be each Couch Time!

The sessions are designed to be completely confidential and will work within your comfort zone!

Under no circumstances, does the psychotherapist engage in any kind of sexual activity with the client(s), whether in the office or in any location. Not only is it unethical, it is illegal!

What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is described by the Mayo Clinic as “a general term for a process of treating mental and emotional disorders by talking about your condition and related issues with a mental health provider” (source).

As a woman, I found find that I could not always open up about my own mental and sexual health and made not so great choices because of that feeling of isolation and not being able to freely talk about my concerns. My professional training, in addition to, life lessons have even lead me on a journey of healing and personal fulfillment.
